I have a 98 savage with very low miles (1300). Last season I changed the oil and filter. Being a novice mechanic, I neglected to replace the small do-nut gasket on the engine side of the filter. I noticed that it was still stuck to the old filter after letting the engine idle for a few minutes to check the oil level. I re drained, and installed the ring as soon as I realized the mistake. Now I have a strange buzzing sound in the engine that is most noticeable when you "rev" the engine. Almost sounds like a loose licence plate cover rattling like I had on my old Honda. Is this simply a valve problem or did I really screw up? I havn't used the bike since the problem occured. One final question about oil volume is the manual accurate? Thanks in advance!
